Hating It

I bought this magazine yesterday, for no apparent reason. Well, may be because deeeep inside...... I mean very deep inside, I wanted to be health concious. That's my resolution year after year after year. But, i don't think there's any changes in my lifestyle yet. Still have 'the moments' where I need to have some ice-cream in the middle of the night. Or the intense craving for Cadbury flake chocolates. Or the regular need of a dose of hot creamy mocha. OMG, all that calory laden food and drinks are sure my favourite.
And now I regret buying that magazine. I hate it, simple said.
You want to know why...

Now I start to feel guilty. Actually I kinda knew about this since loooong time ago. But rereading it in a very nice print, in a new magazine, makes the fact scarier to be digested.
But rest-assured, this fact will be forgotten in just a few days...hahhaha.. I have the capabilities to stuff this kind of facts in the deepest part of my grey matter, so that, the next time I have the craving, it'll take a longer time for me to be reminded about the fact that WE NEED TO WALK FOR 70 FREAKING MINUTES just to burn off the calories from 1/2 cup of ice cream (and that's for 1/2 cup!). That will buy me time, the next time I feel like having my midnight dose of ice cream, at least I have eaten one or two spoonful before I remember about this. Hehehehhe...

p.s. reminder..do ward off those midnight craving.

It's okay to have those cravings and eat the things you love.

As long as you don't substitute rice with Cadbury's chocolate flakes, I'm pretty confident you'll do fine.

Hi!
I'm so aware of all these diet mags and am so guilty of buying them too to make myself believe that I'm taking care of myself (huhu!)... at the end of the day, switch on to Nigella's programme without fail. Looking at her cooking and eating is the next best thing to downing gazzilions of calories myself!

Maybe you should eat the magazine...

1) You don't have to look at it anymore.
2) It'll probably ruin your appetite for days.
3) If you get really sick, you can go to the hospital and eat ice cream and jello.

Seriously... throw it away, right now, outside with the coffee grounds so you won't be tempted to dig it back out.

Naz- i am like that too. I would always feel guilty for neglecting my health, as a result, i'll be spending on this kind of mag, not to mention, exercise dvd too. u know what, nigella always have a kind of impact on us, to get us hooked and to not make us feel guilty for the midnite binge. i think her marketing plot works well on me. haha

G.Coppard- u r such a genius. why aren't we friends before??
eat the magazine...and with the extra fiber, it'll be better for the diet.

Arghh, Diet books should be burned!

I think its portion control, have what you want to satisfy the craving, but tell yourself that it stops after a few mouthfuls, thats where one has to be careful coz that choice is hard. I can never give up on french fries for example, so I still have them but if I feel I am packing on the pounds, I stick with maybe half of what I would normally eat, and eat them slowlly which isnt hard for me as i am a ridiculously slow eater.
